LONDON BURRITO - Chipotle

A massive and almost iconic brand in the US, Chipotle has expanded first to Canada and now to Britain. The first store in the UK opened on Charing Cross Road, London in 2010 and there are plans for up to 200 more across the country.

Whereas my Chipotle experiences in America have been broadly positive, the same cannot really be said for their London restaurant. There is nothing particularly wrong with the food, it is sustainably sourced and the standard of the ingredients is high -- the problem lies mainly in taste. 

Chipotle is bland. It would be quite good if you didn't know there was better. But there is better. And nearby too - Poncho No.8 over in Soho for example.

Go to Chipotle if you must. But be prepared to pay inflated prices for a deflated burrito.
